Road Accident: 4 Killed

Joynagar, 14 October: A shocking street accident claimed 4 lives yesterday near Joynagar. Among the dead two were children. Three persons were severely injured. They all were the passengers of a Tata-Sumo. According to an eye-witness, a long distance state bus was going to Kolkata from Mathurapur. It was running at top speed. There was a turn near Joynagar Municipality. Suddenly the Tata-Sumo appeared before the bus. It was also speeding fast. Both the drivers tried their best to control the motion and avoid collision but failed. Instantly they collided. And the Tata-Sumo overturned and fell into a deep ditch. Local people came to rescue the passengers. They admitted the injured persons to Nimpith Rural Hospital. The bodies were still unidentified at the time of the last report. Local people organised a blockade on the road. The bus-driver had been arrested. A police enquiry is in progress.
