JOYNAGAR BOOK FAIR
-By Monalisha Sinha

Joynagar, 14 January- A grand book fair was held at J.M. Training School ground of Joynagar from 8th January to 13th January in this year. On this occasion the whole area wore a festive look. There was a unique arrangement all over the fair. More than three hundred book sellers and publishers participated in this fair. Books on literature, history, geography, general knowledge, medicine and other subjects were beautifully displayed in various stalls. Colourful children’s books, adult’s books, spiritual book and so on drew the attention of the visitors.
Enthusiastic book lovers were looking for their favourite books from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. There were also tea stalls, phuchka stalls, fast food stalls and cold drink stalls. The arrangement for fire fighting was satisfactory. But the toilets were dirty. It was very interesting to see the people’s enthusiasm for the both books and the autographs of the writers. Above all it was really an enlightening, excellent and exciting experience to all.
